Chromium steel containing (in %): C max 0.06, Si max. 0.40, Mn 0.20-1.20, Cr 16-18, Ni 5-7, Mo 0.3-0.7, the balance being Fe, is especially suitable for the manufacture of articles, which must have high strength at room temperature, heat resistance to 400 degrees C, and good notch resistance at room temperature and 0 degree C.
