Heat exchanger coil attachment to metallic - reaction vessel

Heat exchange between the walls of a process vessel, esp. an evaporator and a tubular coil surrounding it is improved by connecting the coil to the outer walls of the vessel by continuous welded connections made from a metal having a high thermal conductivity. - The method is used when the use of double walled heat exchangers would be dangerous in case of leakage between vessel and fluid in the outer wall, but where the thermal efficiency of the normal surface contact heat exchange cannot be tolerated.
