Production of a fleece from continuous filaments of a melt-spinnable synthetic material, in which the filaments are drawn away from the spinneret orifices by a stream of gas, more especially air, the novel feature being that the filaments while subjected to the drawing force of the air stream are bundled together and adhere or are welded to each other at points of contact, so that single filaments and bundles of a larger or smaller number of filaments are present in the fleece.
