<p>Si is removed from Al or Al alloy by contacting the same with Al sulphide at a suitable temp. in order to produce a reaction between the sulphide and Si of the alloy, the resultant Si sulphide being removed by evaporation. The Al sulphide may be obtained by contacting a portion of Al of the alloy with S or a sulphide such as SiS2.</p> |
