The sensors P1, P2 ... are moved into and out of engagement with the tracks by shock-absorbing rams S1, S2 ... which operate automatically when the vehicle direction is reversed. The sensor movement is fed by linkwork m, n, r, s to the tie rods B of the steering mechanism. A servo mechanism A may assist the steering effort. Manual steering gear, which may be rack-and-pinion F, is provided for travel away from the tracks and may be duplicated at the opposite end of the vehicle. |
