Flexible rotary printing plate having textural and pictorial impression images is made of butyl rubber or butadiene acrylonitrile copolymers and the impression images are protected against excessive wear by coating them with a thin film of PVC, polyvinyl alcohol or a mixture of the above copolymers with polyvinyl chloride, the film having different elastic and hardness properties from the remainder of the printing plate.
