1305940 Buckles FERPLAS INDUSTRIES Ltd 13 Nov 1970 [17 Nov 1969] 54116/70 Heading E2A A buckle for use in connection with flexible strapping comprises a single piece of wire formed to provide a first generally U-shaped portion 11 slightly distorted, including a distal leg 12 formed from one end portion of said single piece of wire, a proximal leg 13 and a bight 14, including a dog-legged portion adjacent the proximal leg and forming a notch 24; a second generally U-shaped portion 11 including a distal leg 16 formed from the other end portion of said single piece of wire, a proximal leg 16 and a bight 18; and an intermediate wire portion 19 connecting the proximal legs of each generally U-shaped portion, said two proximal legs and said intermediate wire portion together having a generally U-shaped configuration, said proximal legs lying parallel to each other and to the two distal legs, said notching constraining a bend joining the distal leg 16 and bight 18 of the second generally U shaped portion, and the end portions of the distal legs extending across the intermediate wire portion 19. The buckle is intended to be used with one end portion of the flexible strapping looped around the distal leg 16 so that tension in the strapping causes the end portion to be gripped between the distal leg 16 and the proximal leg 13 and the other end portion of the strapping is looped around the distal leg 12 so that when the strapping is in tension it is gripped between the distal leg 12 and the proximal leg 17. |
