This invention relates to a system for measuring strains in a member and providing an indication of such strains. The system includes at least one strain gauge connected in a bridge with other resistance members, preferably strain gauges, to compensate for temperature changes. The bridge is provided with characteristics to maintain a constant current from a source of constant voltage even when the member is subjected to a variable strain. The output voltage from the bridge provides an indication of such variations in strain.
