PURPOSE:To obtain a camera where release timing is prevented from being delayed more than necessary while securing the stable time of a sensor circuit such as a camera shake sensor. CONSTITUTION:This camera is equipped with a shutter, a range-finding means 2 or a photometry means 19, a specified value setting means setting a specific value as a range-finding value or a photometric value, a timer means generating a standby time equivalent to the measuring time of the means 2 or 19, a mode setting means setting either a mode in which photographing is performed based on the measured result of the means 2 or 19 or a mode in which photographing is performed according to the specified value set by the specified value setting means, and a control means controlling the opening/closing of the shutter in accordance with the mode set by the mode setting means. The control means controls the shutter to open after the elapse of standby time generated by the timer means in the mode in which photographing is performed according to a specified value, and controls the shutter to close without waiting for the standby time generated by the timer means in the mode in which photographing is performed based on the range-finding result of the means 2. |
