Organophosphatosilanes have the formula in which R 1 is a monovalent, optionally halogenated, hydrocarbon radical or a cyanoalkyl radical (e.g. C 1-18 alkyl); R 2 is H, a a radical hydrolysable by moisture (e.g. alkoxy) or has the same definition as R 1 and n = 3 or 4. I may be prepared by reacting an organohydrogen phosphate (R 1 0) 2 P0.OH with an organohalosilane (R 2 ) 4-n SiX n , where X is halogen. Reaction may take place at 25-150‹ C. in the presence of an acid acceptor, e.g. an alkylamine or pyridine. Alternatively I may be prepared by reacting an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of an organic phosphate: with (R 2 ) 4-n SiX n where M is an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal atom; x is 1 when M is an alkali metal or 2 when M is an alkaline earth metal; X is halogen. Examples of I prepared are methyl - tris - (diethylphosphato) silane; methoxy - tris - (dibutylphosphato) silane; phenoxy - tris - (diphenylphosphatosilane) and tetrakis-(diethylphosphato) silane.</p> |
