[Also in Divisions A5 and C5] Fatty acid amides of the formula wherein R is C 15-25 saturated or unsaturated aliphatic group optionally substituted by a hydroxy group and R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 each are H, C 1-4 alkyl, C 1-4 alkoxy or halogen, but with the proviso that at least one of R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 is other than hydrogen are prepared by reacting acids of the formula RCOOH or acid halides, alkyl esters or glycerides thereof, or mixed acid anhydrides of the formula RCO.O.COB, where B is C 1-4 alkoxy with the corresponding 1,2- diphenylethylamines. Compounds of the above Formula (I) in which R is C 15-25 unsaturated aliphatic group optionally substituted by a hydroxy group or RCO is a residue of a natural fatty oil or acid which predominantly includes R groups as defined immediately above or an isostearoyl group. |
