Title cpds of formula (I) (where x is R1 and R3 are alkyl; R2 is H or alk(en)yl; R4 is alkyl, NR5R6, OR6 or SR7; R5 and R6 are alkyl or H, or together complete a heterocycle, or R6 may also be acyl; R7 is alkyl; Q and Y are O or S; n = 0 or 1; Z is OR8, SR8 or NR9R10 R8 is alkyl; and R9 and R10 are H or alkyl, or together complete a heterocycle) are prepd. by (1) reacting (I: X = H or metal cation) with (Hal)2 P(=Y) (OR1) (where Hal is Cl or Br) in presence of an acid acceptor, and (z) reacting with MZ (where M is H or if Z is OR8 or SR8, a metal cation) pref. in presence of an acid acceptor if M is H. Process gives (I) in high yield and sufficient purity for use in plant protection. |
