<p>The friction plate (1) is used for vehicle disc brakes. It has an opening (2) in it, punched undersize, and is finally machined by an abrasive punch (4). After the scraping procedure, the burr (3) remaining around the edge of the hole is compressed between the abrasive punch (4) and a bracket plate (5) and pressed into the centre, then the whole plate is joined to the brake lining. A projection on the base plate is pushed through the opening, and prevents penetration and adhesion of the pressed material during the second machine-finishing process.</p> |
