The rapid blade exchanger for a bladed shaft wood chipper comprises a bladed shaft body (1) in a fixed angular position of which two centrifugal wedges (2, 3), which are arranged at 30-120 deg. to each other, are simultaneously pressed downwardly. The blunt blade (8) falls out of the groove of the lower centrifugal wedge (3) into a magazine (11), while sharp blades (7) from a second magazine (6) can then be inserted in the groove of the upper wedge. Pref. on the side of each wedge adjacent to the blade are leaf springs (9) which press the inserted blade against the blade-retaining surface (10) in the groove of the bladed shaft body when the wedge is pressed back to a lesser extent.
