The compsns. comprise: (a) 20-80 (pref. 30-70, esp. 40-60) wt % of an amorphous poly-alpha-olefin or -olefin mixt. having an (I) value of 10-400 (pref. 20-200, esp. 30-100) cm3/g, half opf which can be replaced by an elastomer, (b) 20-80 (pref. 30-70 esp. 40-60) wt % of a poly-n-butene oil contg. >80% n-butene units, a distn. residue from cyclododecatriene prepn. or a mixt. of the 2, (c) =15 (pref. 2-10, esp. 4-6) wt % of a chlorinated paraffin contg. 45-60% Cl and/or an aromatic Br cpd., (d) =50 wt % of a filler, etc. and (e) opt. up to 5 (pref. 0.5-3) wt % of a surface active agent. Compsns. are cured by u.v. irradiation and are used for sealing of joints, cementing and roof construction in the building industry. Conventional materials become wrinkled or crack and sticky on the surface after a time. The prods. are non -sticky very shortly after application and either wrinkle nor crack. In an example, a 1:1 mixt. of amorphous polypropylene and poly-n-butene-1 oil was applied to a glass plate and irradiated. at 60 degrees C to effect curing.
