The kerbstone sections have a coarse-concrete core, faced top and front with fine concrete. The mould is first filled with coarse concrete, then its slant side is moved to a new position by an hydraulic piston and the facing concrete added. When the side of the mould turned on a hinge, the movement opened gaps through which the fine aggregate escaped, leading to rapid wear on the equipment. To avoid this, the slant side of the mould is now attached to the side of the frame and to the hydraulic piston by deformable elastic buffers. By these means, the lower edge edge of the moving side of the mould is kept in good contact with the vibrating table that forms its floor, and leakages are avoided.
|
