Cutting machine lateral and transverse knife drive - has double armed lever axes at right angles for operation by bell cranks

The lateral and transverse knife drive is for three-knife cutting machines, being taken from the single-revolution shaft of the machine via cranks, connecting rods, and double-armed levers on fixed axes actuating the knife support pull rods. When the knives are in t.d.c. position, the pull rods with the lever arm attached to them move in the extended position. The axes of the double-armed levers are nearly at a right angle, with the centre of the single-revolution shaft cross-section as the apex. A bell-crank lever is mounted between the support pull rods of the lateral knives and/or the transverse knife support pull rod and the double-armed levers.
