The carrying device has a securing means (4) and containers (2) which are fastened thereon and are each intended for a plurality of magazines or newspapers. The containers (2) project, from their lower fastening point, obliquely upwards and away from the securing means; they are in the form of shells, have an upper removal opening and their front wall (11) is transparent. The size of the receiving area of the containers (2) corresponds at least approximately to the DIN A3 oblong format, the width being slightly larger. The front wall (11) and base of the container (2) have a groove (28) for receiving an intermediate wall (27). The selected format of the receiving area permits conventional daily newspapers to be inserted when the intermediate wall has been removed, or, when the intermediate wall is in place, it permits two packs of magazines or the like, located one beside the other, to be inserted. <IMAGE>
