A heat exchanger (10) has a housing (54) which defines an inlet section (12, 60, 16) to a furnace (24) and an outlet section (18, 62, 14) from the furnace, and a heat exchanger core (28) by means of which heat in combustion gases in the outlet section is transferred to combustion air entering the furnace through the inlet section. The heat exchanger has a body of insulating material (58) which defines ducts (60, 62) of the inlet and outlet sections. A plurality of flexible members (68, 76, 82) are sealingly attached to the core (28) and located in position, the members (68, 76, 82) also sealingly separating the inlet and outlet sections. Means (66, 69) may be provided for trapping debris in the housing (54) to prevent clogging of the core (28). |
