PURPOSE:To make it possible to carry toner effectively even under bad conditions, such as high temperature and high humidity, by improving the carriage efficiency of a magnetic developer by providing a guide member, guiding the magnetic developer, at the circumference of a carriage member in a rotating feed screw shape and then by forming a magnetized area at least at some part of the guide member. CONSTITUTION:The toner carrier consists of pipelike guide member 10 and carriage member 11 in a feed screw shape, and platelike magnet 15 is stuck to the outer circumference of guide member 10. In this constitution, toner is carried upward in guide member 10 provided at angle (theta) to the horizontal plane. In this case, the force operating on toner particle P at the bottom of carriage part 11 is magnetic force 16 depending upon weight 12 of its own, the physical property of toner P and magnet 15, and this magnetic force 16 is much greater than toner's weight 12, so that the certainty of toner carriage will be increased. |
