PURPOSE:To achieve an increase in output torque in time of engine's low speed and a preventive control against the overrotation of a turbine shaft, by installing a motor in a part of the turbine shaft, in case of an exhaust turbine type supercharging device. CONSTITUTION:When stepping on an accelerator pedal, a microcomputer 13 generates a control signal D to the effect that a motor 8 should be set to its maximum rotation whereby a motor current control circuit 15 feeds the motor 8 with the output of a battery 14 as the maximum current value, and since a rotor carrying a permanent magnet 10 is rotated thereby, a turbine shaft 5 used together with a rotary shaft of the motor 8 in common is rotated at a high speed. When engine speed goes up unusually, the microcomputer 13 controls the motor current control circuit 15 into a generating mode. That is to say, since generating power is being generated in a stator coil 12, the motor current control circuit 15, in conformity with a command of the microcomputer 13, feeds the generating power of the motor 8 to the battery 14 as load, thus rotation of the turbine shaft 5 is controlled. |
