F-0694-L SUBSEA PIPELINE TEST CAP AND PIPELINE INSTALLATION METHOD : A high-pressure test cap is provided for mounting on a multiconduit pipeline for use in testing the structural integrity and pressurized-fluid handling capability of the pipeline after it has been positioned on the marine floor. The test cap can be removed from the pipeline and recovered from the marine floor for reuse. The test cap comprises a body portion (36) having a plane surface; an open sided yoke (34) mounted on the body portion around the plane surface and adapted to receive by side entry a mounting collar of a multiconduit pipeline; a plurality of cylindrical chambers (40) in the body portion each opening in the plane surface and coaxially aligned with a conduit (10a) in the pipeline mounting collar to be received in the yoke, and an equal plurality of pistons (50) each mounted for axial movement within a cylindrical chamber; and means (56) which, in use, enable each cylindrical chamber behind the piston mounted therein to become pressurized in fluid communication with the aligned conduit and force the piston into abutment with the pipeline mounting collar, to enable the integrity of the pipeline conduit to be tested.
