PURPOSE:To improve the responding characteristic of a voice coil type motor by providing at least two separate coils on a movable winding unit, and selecting the direction and the amplitude of a current flowed to the coils. CONSTITUTION:A voice coil type motor 10 has a stationary unit 13 having a yoke 11 and a magnet 12, and a movable winding unit 14 arranged to magnetically couple the unit 13. The unit 14 has a bobbin 16, the first coil wound on the bobbin 16 and the second coil 18 wound separately from the coil 17, and a pole 15 is passed through the hole 16a formed at the center of the bobbin 16. When a current is flowed to the coils 17, 18, the unit 14 is moved forward and rearward under the guidance of the pole 15. The direction and the amplitude of the current flowed to the coils 17, 18 are selected to improve the responding characteristic of the motor 10.
