PURPOSE:To prevent simultaneous locking of four wheels when some wheel is spun or when the wheels are braked, by transmitting the driving power through a one-way clutch to the front and the rear wheels when the car starts, and other clutches are connected to transmit the drive bypassing the above clutch when either of wheels is spun. CONSTITUTION:The 4-wheel drive car combines a front and rear wheel drive system and a transfer device through a one-way clutch (the figure is omitted) and makes it possible to transmit the driving power only from the input side. At the same time, clutches 1 through which the drive is transmitted bypassing the said clutch and a wheel lock preventive measure 2 when the wheels are braked are furnished. In this case, an accelerator opening sensor 4, a brake sensor 5, and a wheel speed sensor 6 of the front and the rear wheels are furnished, from which signals are input to a control device 3. When the accelerator opening is more than a specific value and the difference of the wheel speeds is more than a specific value, or when the accelerator opening is less than the specific value, the clutches 1 are given a connecting signal, while a releasing signal is input when the brake is operating.
