PURPOSE:The titled composition, obtained by incorporating magnesium hydroxide and an inorganic flame retardant having a specific decomposition starting tem perature with a polyolefin, having improved flame retardance and tensile characteristics without emitting toxic halogen based gases and suitable for insulating materials, e.g. electric wires, etc. CONSTITUTION:A flame-retardant electrical insulating composition obtained by incorporating 100pts.wt. polyolefin, e.g. ethylenepropylene copolymer, with (A) >=100pts.wt. magnesium hydroxide and (B) 10-100pts.wt. inorganic flame retardant having 150-250 deg.C decomposition starting temperature, e.g. aluminum hydroxide or hydrotalcite. |
