For the watertight and gastight fixing of cable assemblies in closed or also split cable channels, a sealing member is proposed which consists essentially of an integral supporting disc and an integral pressure disc, both being equipped with a retaining ring which can be latched in, between which a sealing disc is arranged which is provided with weak points and consists of a suitable elastomer. The compression of the sealing disc by means of one or more clamping elements in the axial direction causes a radial expansion of the sealing disc, as a result of which watertight and gastight fixing takes place between the individual cable assemblies and the surrounding cable channel.
