PURPOSE:To remove the influence of background light from a flame image by extracting light in a specific frequency range from the light of frames photographed by a television camera and processing the image of the flames with the extracted light signal. CONSTITUTION:The flames in a furnace are photographed by an industrial television 2. The photographed light is sent as flame data to a BPF 3, which extracts and sends only picture element data of 200Hz frequency to an arithmetic device 4. The device 4 performs specific arithmetic and sends its signal to a display device 5, where the combustion state of the flames is displayed as an image. Thus, the light in the specific frequency range is passed through the BPF 3 to remove the influence of picture elements below specific flicker level, so the influence of the background light is removed and the combustion state of the flames in the furnace is accurately grasped.
