Balancing system for vehicle shock absorber - makes use of hydropneumatic spring to counter cross-forces

The arrangement can balance the wheel resistance cross forces on the shock absorber of the wheel suspension for a vehicle. The shock absorber has a spring/damper element (1) the housing (4) of which is connected to a wheel guide rod (5), with the piston rod (6) supported against the frame (3) of the vehicle. A hydropneumatic spring (15) has a non-positive connection with the housing of the spring/damper element and with the frame of the vehicle. USE/ADVANTAGE - Suspension system in which the customary leaf springs are replaced by a hydropneumatic spring to give a satisfactory balancing of wheel cross-forces.
