PURPOSE:To enable even a user having a little experience in photographing to easily and accurately select a photographing mode which is the most appropriate for each photographic scene by displaying an illustrated image expressing the scene corresponding to the photographing mode by a liquid crystal display by interlocking with the setting of the photographing mode. CONSTITUTION:A mode setting button 14 for setting the photographing mode is provided besides a shutter button 12 on the upper part 11a of a camera main body 11, and a liquid crystal panel 15 which is large enough to display the concrete example of the photographic scene corresponding to each set photographing mode is provided near the button 14. Besides the photographic scene, the name of the photographing mode and hints on photographing are displayed as necessary on the panel 15. In order to set the photographing mode, the mode setting button 14 is depressed several times so that the photographic scene approximate to present photographing circumstances may be displayed on the panel 15. Thus, it is unnecessary to thoroughly read an instruction manual in advance and to carry the manual in addition to a camera main body, and even a beginner can easily master various photographing modes. |
