PURPOSE:To obtain a large progressive wave with a small size structure by a method wherein two bimorph type piezoelectric transducers which have lengths of lambda/2 and polarities opposite to each other are provided in series to form one bending vibrator and two bending vibrators are bonded to respective elastic elements with a discrepancy of lambda/4 between their tips. CONSTITUTION:Two bimorph type piezoelectric transducers 13 and 13a which have lengths of lambda/2, i.e. a length at which a bend is generated, and polarities opposite to each other are provided in series to form a bending vibrator 14. Two bending vibrators 14 are bonded to respective elastic elements 11 and 12 with a discrepancy of lambda/4 between their tips 14a. If radio frequency signals are applied to the respective bending vibrators 14 with a time phase difference of +90 deg. or -90 deg. between the signals, respective vibrators 1 and 1A start predetermined vibrations and one progressive wave is synthesized in the respective elastic elements 11 and 12. A movable element 3 bonded to the respective elastic elements 11 and 12 is moved to a required direction (longitudinal direction X) by the progressive wave. |
