<p>PURPOSE:To automatically start up a system by providing a time measuring function to await the start-up of the system after applying a power source to a magnetic tape device, and starting a tape loading operation by the magnetic tape device itself in spite of the presence/absence of the mount request of a host system. CONSTITUTION:When the power source is applied to the system by a centralized control mechanism 10, a processor starts control, and sets latency time until automatic loading is started, and time measurement is performed. When a time elapses exceeding the latency time, the tape fetch position of an auto- changer 4 is instructed, and the auto-changer 4 sends a tape set before the application of the power source to a magnetic tape device 3, and executes the loading operation, and reports the completion of the loading to a controller 2. The completion of loading of a magnetic tape is reported to a host CPU 1 via the controller 2, and data processing is performed. Thereby, it is possible to automatically start the processing.</p> |
