In a reciprocating device, a slider (10) is formed by fixing a table member (8) to a bearing casing (6) which is movable by means of recirculating balls (6b, 6c) inside a track bed (30). The bed has a channel section in a longitudinal direction thereof, and drive means such as a belt (24) is disposed along the device for reciprocating the slider.
