PURPOSE: To obtain a compound of abruquinones having anti-blood platelet aggregation activity, antiallergic activity and antiinflammatory activity. CONSTITUTION: Components of a rhizome part of Abrusprecatorius L. is extracted with a polar organic solvent such as methanol or acetone and the solvent is distilled away to give a crude extract, which is suspended in water, extracted with chloroform or a low polar organic solvent, isolated by column chromatography or an extract after extraction is directly isolated by column chromatography to give a compound of abruquinones of the formula. Properties of the compound: orange needle crystal. Melting point: 109-110 deg.C. Solubility: solnble in ether, chloroform and ethyl acetate. The compound of abruquinones of the formula as an active ingredient is further mixed with a conventional component properly and pharmaceutically manufactured into a tablet, capsule, suppository, injection and solution by a routine procedure. |
