Absorbent prod. for absorbing liq. bleeding from animal food products comprises, a core including a mat of absorbent material, upper and lower sheet sealed at the periphery to enclose absorbent mat, needling perforations passing through both layers and the core and bundles of fibres extending through the lower layer for wicking transport of liquid therethrough.
