The inflatable element (18) comprises, along at least one peripheral edge (25), an extended bordering element (23) overlapping each of the plies (19, 20) and fixed to them lengthwise, for instance by bonding or by welding, and main retaining means (26) integral with said plies (19, 20) and adapted for co-operating with complementary retaining means (28) integral with a wall adjacent to said peripheral edge (25) for pressing said peripheral edge (25) against said adjacent wall when the inflatable element (18) is inflated.
