Automatic blood sample examination machine has a test station in which blood is withdrawn from a supply vessel (5) and passed through the aperture (19) of a part held in an aperture holder (3), the novelty being that. (i) magazine devices feed blood supply vessels (5) and aperture holders (3) separately and successively to at least one test head (7); and (ii) after carrying out measurement in an aperture holder, the used aperture holder (3) and supply vessel (5) are removed from the test head (7) which is then cleaned by a cleaning device (26,27). Measuring unit is in the form of a throwaway part and has at least two capillaries, each followed by a filter part with at least one aperture. The filter parts are arranged on a wall of a blood container sepd. by one or more partitions into two or more spaces, each of which follows a filter part. The wall has openings, each of which is connected to a capillary and precedes an aperture of a filter part. Pref. the measuring unit is made of polystyrene or PVC.
