The blanket includes one or more flat induction coils having ferro-magnetic cores. The coils have the same or different sizes, wire thickness, and winding numbers, and are fixed side by side between textile cloths of the blanket. The blanket includes a current generator which is connected to the coils, and which produces an excitation current. The coils are combined in individual coil groups, whereby each coil or coil group is connected to the current generator by a normal conductor or a magnetically shielded conductor. The current generator has two or more outputs, which are connected to different coils or coil groups. The coils or coil groups are individually supplied without and with time delays, where the time delays may be fixed or variable. All the coils or coil groups are independently controllable by a pulsed excitation current, which is clocked. The pulse shape, pulse width, amplitude, polarity and period are individually variable. the coil characteristics can be individually set by the current generator for each coil or coil group.
