The present invention pertains to the field of video recording and more precisely relates to devices and methods for recording and editing video information such as amateur films. The method essentially comprises first recording an edited film on a video information carrier. A plurality of marks in the form of text and/or graphic and/or symbolic information is further recorded in places for the insertion of fragments, wherein said information may be retrieved on a video control device during the shooting or playback process. A given mark may be searched for automatically or manually, while video information is recorded by superimposition and/or replacement of previously recorded information so as to obtain a finished film.
