PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a steam circulation passage in a once-through steam generating device being of a type comprising mainly an economizer, a vaporizer, and a superheater, and connecting a separation bottle to a place between the vaporizer and the superheater. SOLUTION: Quantities of water needed during the total load mode of a plant is conveyed to an economizer 21 and a vaporizer 22 through a feed pump 20. This quantity of water is set such that wet steam reaches a separation bottle 25. A moisture content of steam is separated in the separation bottle 25 togetherwith impurities contained in steam and taken out through a blow- down conduit 29, Further, during a surplus feed, a state regulating agent to reduce volatility of impurities to be removed is metered in water.
