PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the winding of recording paper whatever image formation is executed by calculating a density average at the leading edge part of an image top be formed and variably setting the size of the blank part of the leading edge of the recording paper in the case of forming the image in accordance with the density average. SOLUTION: When a CPU is instructed to execute copying, the CPU 100 reads an original and stores a read image in a RAM 102. Image data on the read image equivalent to the leading edge of the original of fixed length are fetched in the CPU 100 from the RAM 102 so as to calculate an average density. Next, the CPU 100 compares the average density with a threshold. When the average density is higher than the threshold, that is, an image part is much larger than a blank at the leading edge part of the original, the CPU 100 controls a driving circuit 101 so as to delay the timing of turning on a resist roller by a fixed time, whereby the size of the area of the blank part at the leading edge part of the recording paper is set to be wider than prescribed standard size. |
