DIGITAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE ADOPTING MPEG ENCODER AND DECODER, AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To encode a video signal to fit an MPEG-2 standard idea and to decode the encoded video signal by multiplexing a video packetized elementary stream(PES), an audio PES and a user's PES into a transmission stream. SOLUTION: A 1st PES packetizing device 310 packetizes a video bit string from a buffer 307 with a PES. On the other hand, an audio encoder 311 encodes audio data and a 2nd PES encoder 312 packetizes the encoded audio bit string. A TS packetizing device 314 packetizes and multiplexes audio data which is packetized by the device 310 so as to fit transmission and storage. In such a case, user's data is packetized with the PESs and the user's data that is made a packet is applied to the device 314.
