Snap hook with dynamic locking

The snap hook body is C-shaped and has its two curved ends joined by a pivoting finger. The finger is pivoted at one end and its second end engages on the free end of the body. The corresponding engaging ends of the finger and the body comprise a male end (9) and a female end (10). The male end has a portion of reduced thickness (16) carrying a lateral protuberance (20) which engages in a lateral housing (24,25) in a slot (17) in the female end. This housing is shaped to limit relative axial separation of the male and female ends and prevents opening of the finger when the snap hook body is subjected to an axial pull. The female end has a transverse stop (28) which limits progression of the male end beyond its closed position.
