The gearwheel pawls(11) even while transmitting torque under all load conditions can be selected merely by the aid of controlling forces applied by the rider without creating sliding friction on its force application point. The face of the selector rod(7a,7b) in the load state stands perpendicular to the force action direction and forms an angle(13) to a line(25) which connects the middle of the axle and rotational centre of the pawl.
