<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical method for utilizing waste as fuel by which the waste can be sent to a power plant, etc., while the occurrence of bad smells and decomposition is prevented by handling the waste in a very good state, the energy and cost required for converting the waste into fuel can be made lower as compared with those required for manufacturing refuse derived fuel, and then, valuable good-quality metals, glass, etc., contained in the waste can be recovered. SOLUTION: In a method for utilizing waste as fuel, waste 1 is crushed with a crusher 2 and, after moisture is removed from the crushed product with a drier 3 as necessary, a pyrolysis residue is produced by thermally cracking the crushed product in a thermally cracking furnace 4. Then, after char is sorted from the pyrolysis residue by means of a sorting device 5, the char is compressed into a solid matter having a required shape by means of a compressing device 22 and the compressed char is transferred to another facility for combustion by means of a transferring means 9.</p> |
