PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treating device which is capable of treating waste, such as garbage, containing a large volume of water and is capable of maintaining a stable fermentation state at all times by the circulating capability possessed by the nature without generating malodors. SOLUTION: A garbage treating vessel 11 of the garbage treating device having the garbage treating vessel 11 for fermenting and digesting the garbage by a microorganism culture base material 32 is installed on the ground surface and is provided with a partition plate 18 which is opened on its bottom side and is formed with many holes 18a for discharging the water at the aperture. The lower part side of the partition plate 18 comes into contact with the underground soil via contact layers 21, 22 and 23 having water permeability.
