PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal transfer image receiving material excellent in sharpness of a white image by providing a sublimation type dye receiving layer coated surface of which the surface reflecting characteristic due to a specific JIS method has a specific hue value on a support consisting of a fiber and polymer particles. CONSTITUTION:A sheet composed of a fibrous substance such as Japanese paper or a nonwoven fabric is impregnated with an adhesive containing polymer particles and the impregnated sheet is treated and dried to embed polymer particles in the sheet composed of the fibrous substance to produce a support. An org. solvent soln. of the resin is applied to the support and dried to form a sublimable dye receiving layer to obtain a sublimation type transfer image receiving material. The surface reflecting characteristics of the surface coated with the image receiving layer of the obtained image receiving material due to JIS-Z8722 and JIS-Z8730 are set so that values of L, a and b must L=90 or more a=-1.5-+1.5 and b=-5.0-0.0. In order to develop these characteristics, is it is pref. to apply bleaching treatment and brightening treatment to the support or the dye receiving layer. |
