<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contact failure by increasing connecting strength of discharge tube and external leads, and to shorten the total length of the discharge tube. SOLUTION: This discharge tube is provided with electrode assemblies 10 having lead-in wires 1 and electrodes 3, a glass tube 7 for fixing the electrode assemblies 10 to both ends, and filling discharge gas inside, and a fluorescent screen 9 covered with an inside surface 7a of the glass tube 7, and emitting visible radiation by receiving irradiation of an ultraviolet ray generated by discharge between the electrodes 3. The lead-in wires 1 are inserted into through holes 12a formed in metallic washer members 12, the washer members 12 are fixed to the lead-in wires 1, and the external leads 8 are fixed to the lead-in wires 1 in a state of abutting to the washer members 12 so that the external leads 8 and the lead-in wires 1 can be surely connected to prevent the contact failure.</p> |
