PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the security of credit settlement in electronic settlement or in a real store, and to provide an electronic settlement system which brings convenience. SOLUTION: In the electronic settlement system which processes settlement transaction for a purchased merchandise inputted from an information terminal 101 through a network, a selling-merchandise information processing terminal 103 which receives information about the purchased merchandise inputted from the information terminal and a settlement information processing terminal 104, which sends a settlement confirmation request about the purchased merchandise to a portable terminal 107 of the purchaser according to a settlement request from a selling-merchandise information processing terminal, receives a settlement confirmation reply from a portable terminal, and confirms payment ability of the purchaser to a credit information processing terminal 108, are prepared. When the portable terminal confirms information about the purchased merchandise and credit is guaranteed by the credit information processing terminal, the settlement information processing terminal is structured to notify completion of the settlement for the purchased merchandise to the selling-merchandise information processing terminal. The settlement can be processed securely. |
