PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small vibration, small nose, and high efficiency motor driver which drives a motor automatically at optimum setting with respect to changes in the operation conditions. SOLUTION: This motor driver has a model memory means which stores a model of an induced voltage corresponding to a rotor position of a motor, a rotor position estimating means which detects the terminal voltage of the motor and estimates the rotor position according to the detected voltage and the model value, a model correction means which corrects the model according to the value of the terminal voltage and the zero-cross point of the induced voltage, a current application width setting means which sets the current application angle for the motor, so as to secure a current application width for the detection of the zero-cross point by the model correction means, and a current application control means which controls a switching device. The rotor position is estimated and detected accurately to control the drive of the motor, while the optimum model is constructed consistently, while following the changes in the induced voltage constant, etc., caused by the changing in the motor operation conditions. |
