PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire for a submerge arc welding which has improved current carrying properties, thus exhibits stabilized wire feed ability and excellent welding workability. SOLUTION: The wire for the submerge arc welding is characterized in that the surface of the welding wire is coated with a plated copper layer of 0.8 to 2.4μm in thickness.
